Prejudice

I was thinking about this last night*. Any types of music that you don't give a chance because you assume it's crap, or just have a feeling against?

Personally I'll probably never go down the prog road, and I find the idea of music dance and rock horrible. There's probably great examples of both but I can't be arsed to find out. When I was younger I would've dismissed lots of the poppy happy music I like now as sacharrine shit, and lots of the 'experimental' stuff as pretentious, but now I love it.

*what an interesting place my mind is.....

I can be awfully prejudiced sometimes - I really do struggle with it!
For instance, I "know" that I will hate any band with a name like "Afro Celt Soundsystem" without ever hearing them. Furthermore, I will know exactly what they look like, what they eat, and the drivel they will speak!!
Terrible isn't it?

Reading the word "americana" makes me want to attack things with great violence.

"Jazz" has a similar effect, but I wouldn't hit such obvious things and certainly nothing more than once.

"Salsa" is a bit of a problem too.

I once read the Level 42 were Britain's 'premier soul funk outfit'. Actually, any band that are described as an outfit should be avoided.
