Exactly the same in Wales, at least you were given a chance of having a voice, we've been repeatedly refused that by the blue and red tories here. With the indy movement growing it's just getting insulting.

Not being cheeky, does the Orange Lodge have influence in Wales? We were given a chance, we took it on Brexit, we took it on Nuclear Weapons, a democratic vote was ignored, we were told if some huge change took place we'd be given a second Indy vote i.e. leaving the EU. Conveniently ignored :-(

Sadly, I think the person who has most influence here is the english pm! We had devolution from 1999 (vote 97) and since then, both the tories and labour have failed to promote it completely, which does make me wonder why as without the Senedd they'll be out of jobs!

Captain Starlet,

You implied "probable Russian interference" swayed the Brexit result. I strongly disagree. This is our security services mirroring their US counterparts in finding an excuse for the Brexit result, just as the US searches for a reason to deligitimise the election of Trump.

Another thought, all the talk currently of the NHS being handed to US private business interests (a genuine threat that Westminster has now denied the Scottish Govt the powers to reject, even though Health is devolved). Remember Obama's TTIP negotiations with the EU? That would have had the same effect.

Ironically, it was Trump's election that nixed that trade agreement, as he sought to overturn every Obama policy through spite. So the peoples of the EU got at least a delay on that horror. If Hillary had been elected TTIP would have been a done deal by now, chlorinated chicken and all.

But Trump was always going to come back on that matter, simply through US naked self interest. And there'd be no change in that under Biden.

The people of the UK are going to have to put a real fight to save (what's left off) of the NHS. On a scale massively bigger than anything we've seen in the past, whether climate change, BLM or the poll tax riots.

Unless we want a future where British people have to sell their houses, or go into massive debt, if a family member gets cancer, etc.

Did you know the NHS in England was effectively abolished by the Health And Social Care Act 2012 under Cameron? Astonishing, as this was achieved with virtually no media coverage or public concern.

There's an informative TED Talk by Allyson Pollock on this subject up on YouTube, that should break your heart. This has had only 180K views in 6 years!:

Oh, come off it! Time to stop reading the tory press on that one and wake up to the fact. The security services obviously failed to convince the Westminster govt here and it's widely publicised stating very clearly that the govt was warned and “the government did not take action to protect the UK’s process in 2016”. So, bringing up the security services is quite a moot point as the recent report clearly indicates that they did actually do their job but the tories didn't act as wanted their brexit.

Interesting also that you raise the issue of the NHS. As a former NHS Contract Manager, it's an area very close to me. If it wasn't for brexit there wouldn't be any talk of selling it off anyway!

Bollocks. To both your retorts. I don't read the tory press. I am not a tory. What I am also not is a gullible idiot. I've laid out facts, but you are beyond help. It's clearly a waste of time trying to talk sense to you.

You clearly:

•know nothing about TTIP
•didn't watch the video I posted on the privatisation of the NHS
•have never heard of the Health And Social Care Act 2012 for England & Wales, nor have any understanding of its impact
•didn't read the Craig Murray article on the Russian interference hoax
•have missed the facts of the Julian Assange / Wikileaks / DNC "Russian hack" (actually an internal download by a DNC worker to a thumb-drive) / the Clinton funded Steele Dossier bullshit & the FBI collusion in trying to overturn the 2016 US election (Comey / Strozk, et al)

My wife works in the NHS. I've had many years of experience working in the Scottish NHS Management Executive and Health Policy Dept. I know the subject. My family have required extensive and expensive care by the NHS in the recent past that would have bankrupted us in the USofA. I'm more left wing on the NHS than you will ever be.

You are a typical brainwashed remoaner prick. Just fuck off.

"You are a typical brainwashed remoaner prick. Just fuck off."

Gosh!

(As another Salopian brainwashed remoaner prick who has lots of NHS experience I agree with the Captain. I never met anyone inside the NHS who voted Brexit which is a puzzle. I guess they too must all be brainwashed remoaner pricks.)

Live TV coverage this morning of a boatful of poor people mid-channel. Lots of people ringing in, furious: "I voted Brexit to stop this!"

Yes, a big proportion did. Poor them. A lollypop for anyone who can state a single Brexit dividend so far (and no, fishing won't be one).

I'm trying not to say I told you so to people, but it's really hard going!

I'm not one to gloat when proven right as it usually involves the misfortune of others but there is an element of pleasure in seeing people's brexit dreams all fall to pieces right in front of me.

There's literally nothing to be gained. Even the 'brexit bill' is now being accepted as around £160bn, which I do recall being around the figure floated around previously dismissed as 'project fear'!
