I have been reading about Hamish MacInnes since seeing your post. What a legend ... it seems that the greatest challenges for him came towards the end of his life.

Astonishing documentary from BBC Scotland a few years back. I remember it well. Worth EVERY minute spent watching it. What a guy.

Totally. Some people go beyond. My late dad's Everest photo poster signed by him, Bonington and Haston lies feet away under my sickbed. Shall unroll, pat and nod. RIP
