How was the Isle of Lewis? What did you think? Was the water still so blue?

Hello Carol,
How kind. Yes the water was still blue and the sand was still white. And the beaches were still empty. It wasn't properly dark at midnight. And it didn't rain all the time. What weird landscape. And so much bogginess. Interesting plants and animals all over the place. I liked it very much indeed thank you. I discovered (once again) that I'm not very good on ferries :(
I should write a few fieldnotes shouldn't I, before it all evaporates too far. That's going back to work for you.
Do you think you'd go back? I think Uist and Barra and suchlike need a look at. Some people we met had island-hopping tickets - fun if you've got lots of time.
