A light at the end of the tunnel?

Could the Stonehenge tunnel be ditched?
https://heritageaction.wordpress.com/2017/03/22/breaking-news-up-to-sixteen-upgrades-to-englands-busiest-roads-including-the-stonehenge-tunnel-could-be-scrapped/

Could this be a (good) consequence of Brexit? ;)

Positive news!
CPRE have just released a report which supports the above view (there is a great little video that goes with it).

Far too soon to see any benefits from Brexit - all gloom and doom at the moment though I did hear on this morning's news about a new Chinese factory (in the Midlands I think) which will manufacture electric London taxis. Good news for (some?) jobs and the environment.

That would be great.

Although having said that there was someone on the Today programme yesterday stressing how they were going to spend lots and lots of money on roads. I guess it depends if someone's got a bee in their bonnet about it and wants to prove a point / add it to their CV. or whether they'll realise it's not worth the bother of it being such a hot potato and just back out quietly with the not-value-for-money excuse.

hopeful though

I think the potatoes have got very much hotter in the last couple of weeks with the unqualified condemnation of the scheme by the group of 21 top archaeologists and also by ICOMOS-UK. So "not worth the bother" has maybe become more likely.

Just seen this Torygraph link - David Cameron will be recalled in history for all the wrong reasons. No wonder he ran away and hid.
