Just watched a programme on BBC4 about the Glasgow Boys - a group of 19th Century artists who put Glasgow art on the map.
The presenter Muriel Gray visits some rock art on a Galloway hillside and does a 'rubbing'. This technique was apparently used by Edward Atkinson Hornel to paint The Brownie of Blednoch
Made me want to mooch around the art galleries of Glasgow - something for the winter perhaps.
