Mentioned on here once before, there's what appears to be a standing stone in someone's garden in the village of Onich (Just north of Ballachulish on the shore of Loch Lihnne, about 8 miles from Fort William). Anyone know anything about it? Even if it is a propper 'standing stone'?

Looks like it. From the road you only see it side on. But, it's defo about that kinda position in the field by the loch.

Why 'bugger'? It's the same stone, easily visible from the road, and there's more than enough evidence that it has been there for hundreds of years - long enough for ancient stories about it to have been coined locally. Beautiful setting, and there's a lot of other neolithic remains in the area, from cairns to cup-marked rocks.

I have a feeling the Four Seasons Bistro may be getting a food test real soon.

Nick - I was up there last week and didn't make a point of looking it out. Yeah I kinda knew about all that stuff. The cupmarked stone was a bit boring-looking ;P I did some research before we went up, but the weather was so incredibly shite that I just chickened out. Maybe in the summer. On my one solo trip out of the cabin I almost got blown over to Mull.
