Such sad news about Hand Of Dave. I, like many other online friends, originally connected with his world through Julian Cope’s Head Heritage online forum. That had become the place for likeminded heads to offload, back in the days before big business social media made such a thing seem less of a weird cult. Ours probably was a bit, though. What initially drew me to Dave was the stance he’d take against officious injustice. Also his sharing of those shots of his annual snow caves creations built in his garden. I’m guessing these were done under the guise of being for his kids, but suspect he made them, cos he had to. He was, after all, an artist. And then there was those videoclips he’d film of himself, in his wagon, noodling away on a banjo, while stuck in traffic. Who sticks a banjo in the car for when they’re bored? The man’s psychedelic graphic illustration work is probably where we connected most. I’m gonna miss those occasional uploads of strange, geometric biomechanic robots. A sad day.

That's such sad news. He was such a sweet guy. Thoughts and best wishes go out to his nearest and dearest.

Glad you posted this, it needs to be marked here. RIP Hand of Dave, I'm missing your posts and photos already. Upwards at 45 degrees.

A genuinely lovely chap which the world needs more of. I still have his album around somewhere, which is very much worth listening to, for those that havent.

Well done for putting this on here Kid. I was very sad to hear of Dave's passing. Although I'd known he was unwell for some time, it still came as a dreadful shock to hear the news. Dave was such a kind and generous soul - he gave a lot of time to doing a video for us to be projected at a Black Tempest gig, and also did the cover for our previous album Psyborg, in his usual inimmitable style. I loved his artworks. He will be greatly missed. RIP Dave.
