Golf (No, Really)

I'm no fan of golf, but this made me laugh out loud.

Saw this on the news this morning. Amazing. Now if golf brought in more stuff like that then I might pay more interest.

Who was it who said something along the lines of golf being a good walk ruined?

I believe it was Oscar Wilde, dear boy.

I always attributed it to Mark Twain, but apparently not:

Always a good day when I learn something new. I'd thought it was Mark Twain too.

On the subject of golf, I recall driving once and having 5Live on. Some big golf thing was going on and I couldn't help thinking that golf really isn't a radio sport at all, although it could be a cure for insomnia.

Quite possibly! Tennis is a bit like that too. He's hit it in and then the other guy has hit it in some fashion and then it's gone into the net. Ad infinitum. It's the chatter in between the action and info provision that I like. In the absence of a sky subscription or some such it is the best I can get. Have to admit to having a slight obsession when it comes to following sports - and playing some for that matter
