I was in the mid 90's/ early 2000's. It was hard keeping up wit all the iterations he came out with at the time, he seemed fairly prolific.
First heard him on the John Peel Radio show many many moons ago, where his songs and sessions were a fairly regular feature. Love the earlier stuff more than the more recent efforts. Think it was that slight DIY/ thrown together vibe along with those plaintive/ lost sounding vocals.
Have come across this album of late that gets a fair few spins ... kinda has an Oldham vibe Gareth Liddiard - Strange Tourist
