Goldfrapp - Silver Eye
My youngest recommended this to me as a return to Black Cherry-esque material. I can kinda see what she means, but it's all a bit samey tempo and content wise, so not sure I'll listen all that much tbh.

Goldfrapp - Black Cherry.
This, Supernature and Felt Mountain are probably my fav' records by her, the other albums have been slowly diminishing returns if I'm honest.

Bauhaus - Go Away White.
Listened to this for the first time since it's original 2008 release the other day, and I gotta eat my words. I loved pretty much all of it. Has a nice swagger to many of the songs, and ole Danny Ash still manages to fit in that great trebly bauhaus tele sound on more than a few tracks. Yeah, it's pretentious as hell, but that's why we loved em' in the first place ain't it?The intro to the first song does kinda make me think of Nigel Tufnal's solos in Spinal Tap, and it does have Bowie written large all over it.
I absolutely hated it upon initial listens, being a long time uber fan in my youth I guess I had unrealistic expectations about what a 'new' Bauhaus record aught to sound like. Pity Pete got up to his usual diva shenanigans, would of liked to hear where they would have taken another record.

Cabaret Voltaire - Live YMCA/ Sound Of America/Mix Up
Still re-loving the urban paranoia of these early albums. Live YMCA has bootleggy sound almost as bad as Wire's Document and Eyewitness and Pere Ubu's 360 Degrees of Stereo Sound, but I feel that just adds to their sound in some ways. Wish I had the original Factory version of Baader Meinhof, but i can tune into Youtube if I need a fix of that.

Tarwater - Musique Originale Du Film Donne-moi La Main
Cheers for the heads up on this one Keith, really enjoyed it. Dunno how I managed to overlook it upon release, guess I thought being a soundtrack they would loose some of their 'Tarwateryness' in the making of music for someone else. Mind you, that thing they did with Iggy was OK, so maybe should have known better.

Tarwater - Needle Was Travelling/ Animals Sons and Atoms/Silur/ Not The Wheel.
Now I come to think of it, some of Not Wheel was for soundtrack. Some of the extras on the recent (well 2011) isn't much more than washes of sound, or half formed Ideas, but there's more than a few odd hidden gems. Wish I'd picked up the radio sessions CDr when I had the chance, there is a great version of 'The Water Sample' from a 1998 Peel session.

Mudhoney - Piece Of Cake
Rescued this from a charity shop for 50p, forgetting I'd done the same several years ago, and already had a copy. Not their best album, but a few goodies buried amongst the dross.

Eric Random - Subliminal 1980-1982
All the recent Cabs activity inevitably led me to dig this out. Great 2 CD overview of early stuff, and the Bedlamites 1st album 'Earthbound Ghost Needs'. Also had a dig around youtube and came across a few of his other albums. Instantly fell in love with the massively dubby Bauhaus fest that is Second Sight... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He-9xZ6QMQA

Cope- Syd Arthur Fest 2
Great comp to accompany the lovely booklet. Almost an aural version of the 'Tales From The Drug Attic' article (remember that!). That Bob Seger track was a revelation, not listened to him before (and probably won't explore further tbh), but that track has some serious groove. Kinda reminds me of the Box Tops 'The Letter'.

There's a new Liars album incoming imminently. Now down to Angus on his lonesome, but first release sounds OK...

Others not too bad either...

Well, that's about all I can recall fer now. Have a better one.
