It's an each to their own thing I suppose, plus a dash of the unexplainable.
I have never been able to get past Waits' voice, so I've no idea if he's a good songwriter or not. Dylan I can at least appreciate for songs I've heard others do. However, both voices - sorry.
For the record:
Mark E Smith, depends on the track.
Shane McGowan, once upon a time but not anymore.
Nick Cave, no.
Lou Reed, no.
John Lydon, depends on the track.
It's all of no consequence of course. What the fuck does it matter what I think?

ok! but there was about iggy, it all gets fucked by those sorts of mistakes, theres a difference between been cool and trying to look cool [something bob never seemed bothered about, recording with u2 for example]
