Soporific languor doesn't get any better than this (except for the more urgent Crazy Horse-like "Cowboy Movie" and the trite anti-Nixon call-to-arms "What are Their Names".) The fact the every musician residing in or around the San Francisco Bay Area at this time seems to have made at least one guest appearance on it only adds to its Bohemian charm. Some darned beautiful tunes, to boot.
I still quite like that song What Are Their Names, if you ignore the direct topicality of the lyrics, which are pretty vague anyway the soundscape is pretty dreamy bit warped in that way too. Plus it's got one of the rare instances of Jerry Garcia guitar duetting with Neil Young.
Shame there isn't a lot more of that lp. Guess there is that 15/12/70 live set but its a core of Dead plus Crosby so lacks the other imnput. Pus all of the PERRO stuff is to some extent interrelated. So that's a vague grouping including a lot of the Grunt semi solo Airplane related stuff.
