Motor City Marijuana
When activist John Sinclair was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1969 for giving two joints to an undercover cop, it touched off a pro-pot movement that thrives to this day in Michigan. Can marijuana cure what ails Detroit?

I lived in Troy Michigan for a couple of years, 1994-95. I never smoked marijuana when I was there but some fellow Brits I worked with were constantly stoned. They had shopping bags of the stuff.

Dunno what it's like nowadays but then the difference between Oakland County and Wayne County when crossing 8 mile was like night and day. I worked with Michganians at General Motors who had never been downtown. Ever. We used to go down all the time, mainly to St Andrews Hall which always had good bands playing in front of tiny enthusiastic crowds. Without reading the article I can't see marijuana turning the Detroit I knew around.
