Undercover cops: it gets even worse

Two of them had children with activists they were sent to spy on, who were never told their true identity.

One is Bob Lambert, who later had a long relationship with a woman who, whilst being politically conscious, was not an activist; he chose her merely to make him look normal. He even had her flat raided by his colleagues at Special Branch in order to make him look like a hardcore animal rights activist (ask anyone who's been raided about the sense of violation and its after effects).

Lambert was promoted to running the operation, and was in charge of the deployment of Jim Boyling (infiltrated Reclaim The Streets and had a long term relationship with an activist) and also Peter Black who infiltrated justice campaigns for black people and others whose deaths were under-investigated (with strong indication one of those was the Stephen Lawrence campaign).
