Reductions in farming needed?

I am not too sure about this. They seem to be
missing some points. The report says that to
achieve the good water standards required within
15 years that certain amounts of land will have to stop being used for farming, because of pesticides
and fertilizers leaking into the water table and
polluting rivers. How about instead of stopping using the land we stop using all the fecking chemicals!!!!

I agree about the over use of farm land for animal
rearing. I tramp through so many fields where the ground is just a muddy pulp and the cows sink over
20cms into it. The fields of Cork seem more fit for
rice production than cattle. Intensive animal
farming is killing the land, but grain production is a
necessity - but the pesticides and other chemicals
aren't.
