Friend of a friend of mine lives near one of the Uk USAF bases. As such he’s said he can always tell when the balloon is finally about to go up from the activities around the camp.

In the last week they have, apparently, put up double the number of perimeter watchtowers – all of which have double the number of watchers on them. The staff on site has also increased ‘massively’, as has the amount of traffic. The number of flights coming and going has gone up by ‘an inordinate amount’.

According to him, on the basis of what happened before both (the most recent) Kosovo & Afghan wars, this means they’ll be ready to go in a weeks time – tho’ they’ll probably put it off for another week after that.
