Before it runs out the big super-powers will invade the the last few oil producing countries in a last ditch panic, to appease their own lard-arsed population. Probably accusing the unfortunate country of being in the process of considering thinking about building a potential weapon, or something.

When it finally runs out we will find that the military machines will have drunk up the last dregs in the process of trying to steal the last dregs.
