Lenny Henry once told a story of how, during the Ethiopian famine of the 1980's, the nurses were attempting to weigh a starving child, in a sling attached to a spring balance. The child was so emaciated, he kept slipping out of the sling. The child, the nurses and the other children in the room were all pissing themselves laughing at this.

I think the ability to see something funny in the worst of conditions is one of the things that gives me hope for Humanity.
