the US government is an arrogant bully in its present state, no doubt, as if it needed yet more arrogance right now...

but why blame governments all the time when the *vast* majority of americans are in favour of the death penalty (and a quarter openly support that tosser or at least voted for him)? death penalty is part of the bible, you know, in spite of the 'forgiving' aspect... it's also part of the lynch mob plus gun-culture mental-lity that made that nation great. I was gobsmacked when I heard that percentage too...

and closer to home, the tabloids' recent surveys seem to wish to portray that 83% of the british population is in favour.

so you folks may just be a minority, a bunch of 'freaks', which does not mean that you are wrong, just that, as with most things in history, it's exactly the freaks that have changed the world, and hardly ever thanks to the mob imbibed as it normally is by collective amnesia in tiny virtual 'civilised' mindspaces
