your tactical tactical vote
Nov 20, 2000, 23:14
Now if this website award for the Mighty Web goes down to the wire can we ask for a manual recount as there is established case law which should stand up to legal challenge!

Can I also be the first to admit that the process of voting was too complicated and therefore whilst I voted for this site I just might have inadvertently voted for another and might even have spoilt my ballot.

You have a vote so make sure that you use it wisely...and if you can't stand any of the candidates then just go into the booth and place no marks on your ballot. At least your vote is then counted but unfortunatley it is called 'spoilt'. A vote can be negative as well as positive so therefore if enough people vote negative then we are bound to win!

Call me thick, but I couldn't even work out how to vote.
I found the shortlist of sites including this one, but couldn't see where to submit votes.
Anyone more intelligent than me care to shed light?

It looked to me like the category that HH has been nominated in is not actually open to public voting. Boo! Hiss! And that the only public vote is labelelled as such for a vaguer title of 'favourite website' or something. And they call this a democracy. Pah! Ha! Ha! However, I could be wrong. But either way this website wins no prizes itself for user-friendliness!

i think i voted, after much head-scratching, but it asked for 3 choices, which was waaaay too much to deal with, so i voted for HH, um, well, 3 times!?!?

Can I help you with that LL?
If you have usability problems, I really would like to hear them. I have to find a balance between good looks and usability so any feedback would be mightily appreciated. Not TOO much mind, as unfortunately I do have other projects that demand my time.

Thank-u!

Hi Chris,
Just a couple of problems i've had.
When registering for head to head, the lettering on the form is unclear (being way to small), so i've had to register 2 or 3 times cos of my lousy spelling, being unable to see what i've written.
Also the Unsung pages, some of the fields won't accept any input, meaning i can't send an entry in.

Sorry Chris. I didn't mean the HH site was difficult to use, I was referring to the Online Music Awards site! Just my manner of speaking. Wires well and truly crossed! This site (ie: HH) on the other hand is a doddle to navigate yourself around.

So.... are we concluding that it's impossible to vote or can someone explain how it's done???

"Trying to find a balance between good looks and useability..."

That could be the perfect summation of the 21st Century Consumer Tenet!

I've been juggling with that problem for years ;-) at my age it's best to just try for being useful!

If you don't win I'm writing to Kylie for an explanation!
