I, too, found a stone on the beach at Calais, and a beautiful beach it is too.
It was the shape of a miniature stone hammer/axe (about 1.5 inches by 2 by 4.5), was in an exquisite shade of brown and white (similar to examples in the book "Symbols of Power in the Time of Stonehenge"). It had a central hole, with a wider entrance that had a countersunk look, perhaps by the hole-maker's actions widening it.
It used to be on a shelf, prominently displayed. I lost track of it, and asked my wife, who was fully aware of what I thought it was, if she had seen it. She replied, quite calmly, that she might have thrown it away by accident. I went out into the garden to scream silently.
Hopefully, it'll turn up in the house somewhere.
