Thanks for the link. That article is very confusing and looks like a mish-mash of assertions from some of the people involved. If that is indeed the case and the extravagant headline at Heritagedaily had to be proved, one would expect a proper paper sooner or later including data, diagrams, azimuths and the like, or, as you say, vanish in a couple of months. Interested to see how it develops.
By the way, call me brutish but geophysics and non-invasive technologies may never give us a clear idea (re the dating of those new pits). These may well belong to periods different from the Heel stone, that's why I was asking earlier about RC-dating the stone(s) pit-hole(s) (also not 100% to trust) -in the way it's so carelessly done in other latitudes therefore destroying all evidence in the process-. The SH landscape is varied and contains many diff sites from diff periods therefore potential solar allignments (if any) as the sky altered with time.
More research is needed, therefore more cash. Indefinitely if possible!
