I was on the south coast last week on my jolly hols, near Gosport and spent a lot of time head down at the beach, collecting pebbles. Not being big on geology, I noticed that 60% of all the stone there tended to be glassy and smoothly worn into weird shapes. Also, there was a lot of blood red pebbles, a lot of which sheared off in flat planes. Can anyone give me a clue to what these types of stone could be?
Didnt see any fossils - apart from bloody pensioners all over town!
