Slightly off topic this one but...My dad was an airgunner in WWII and said that some of the turrets had magnesium rings around there base (purpose unknown) which would cause horrific injuries if they caught fire. (and I'm sure we all remember those dodgy chemistry experiments at school involving magnesium ribbon and bunsun burners. Mind you, the pottasium/sodium ones were great too, just throw it in the water and stand well back. I remember we nicked some sodium and threw it in the river, was like letting off a bomb ).
