I totally agree with your ideas on looking at tribal societies i have a firm belief that alot of answers may be found from their art works & life styles and possibly applied to our grasp of ancient knowledge.
I know from my own experiance that it is possible to go into other worlds with out drugs ( i have had attacks of manic depression in the past)in the actual manic phase( which no doubt makes more use of the right side of the brain) my art work is much improved and a feeling of communion with nature exists ( it is actually very similiar to feelings on acid)How ever this is not accepted in our society to day and generally although initially pleasing it is a very exhausting and eventually disturbing/deluded state to be in, which i would not recommend. Thus I don't touch acid or the like any more (not that i did before much anyway).
