Callanish visit
Jun 18, 2000, 21:14
I'm planning a few days up to Callanish in early/mid July. Anyone got any tips on where to stay (camping or B&B)? Anyone else coming up then?

Well I made it - had 4 wonderful days in Lewis last week, staying in a pleasant (but rather rabidly "wee free" guest house in Breasclete, about a mile from Callanish. The bookshevles had various titles like - "Evolution - the lie" -seriously scary stuff. Anyway the stones were fantastic, I'm very glad I went. Spent a lot of time with Margaret Curtis - if anyone's going up do seek her out. If Julian's book opened my mind, Margaret blew my mind away completely. Listening to her talk about the stones (and about Julian for that matter) added another dimension to the whole trip. Far out and still orbiting somewhere out there!

Sounds far out.
Any Margaret Curtis fan-sites out there?! I LOVED the way she just took over on TMA-TV - she gave it this insane Open University vibe, telling the cameraman what to look at. I'm glad they left all that in. Well cool lady.

Far out it was.
These aren't exactly fan sites, but may be of interest.
