Well, I doubt either Loie or I are interested in the Grand Prix--unless in Turkey it's done with camels, perhaps--but I'm sure we'd love to have company. We hope that our friends Dana Facaros and Michael Pauls might join us. They're an American expatriate couple living in France who write guidebooks for Cadogan, and have been to that area of Turkey, perhaps more than once.
The trip is still blue sky; Loie is massively busy at work staffing and opening two new libraries right now and hasn't really the time to think about details, but I'm hopeful. We have a contact, through some young German tourists we met in Sardinia, with a young fellow who has--and, we hope, will still be--been working on the archaeological crew digging at Gobekli Tepe. He seems to think visiting would not be a problem, but who knows?
In any event, perhaps we should correspond directly? It'd be fun to meet some new "rock nuts"!
