harvest moonjinks in the cold n-e
Oct 02, 2001, 12:35
Talking with some friends recently, we were trying to remember the name & location of a stone circle in the NE of Scotland which contains a particular stone arranged almost horizontally, just off the perpendicular. Every seven years (we think) the harvest moon can be seen to snake back on itself in the night sky, this eccentric pattern giving the impression from a specific viewpoint of the full moon rolling slowly up the recumbent stone.

May well be getting some of the particular details a little skewy, but any help in identifying the site (or authoritative debunking of what may just be a false memory amongst friends) would be greatly appreciated - been jumping from tree to tree in the back of my mind now for almost a week, & I cannae get the answer to swim into view. Ta v-much in advance, & hope the autumn sees you all well.
