We've been lucky enough to have some clear, frosty weather the last couple of nights on the south coast, so I went out into the weald on thursday with my trusty 20x80 binocs. The comet is really only just visible to the naked eye, and through binoculars it could be mistaken for a nebula... no tail to speak of. It's certainly not the most spectacular I've seen, that wold have to be Hyakutake in 96 (exactly a year before Haille Bop). Always nice to see these wierd celestial visitors though! I've been fascinated by comets since I read "Comet in Moominland" by Tove Jannson when I was a nipper :)
