Very, very sad to hear this. Dan was gifted with the grittiest, most powerful voice of his generation but always with a sense of subtlety and (in the wider sense) soul. Nazareth made consistently good, sometimes excellent, records under his leadership, even after their popularity faded. It's sad beyond belief that only Pete Agnew now survives from their original line up.

Manny Charlton also just passed this year in July and to be honest I wouldn't have know this fact but my daughter just started taking drum lessons from an old rocker in my neighbourhood who was good friends with Manny and played with him in his later years.
