Hmm, puzzling. As I said in previous post, my old laptop just stopped responding to Audacity in any capacity even after uninstalling and reinstalling the programme totally. Do you have another machine or tablet you could try out to see if it will work on that? Gonna sound daft, but you do have enough memory and RAM to make everything work at the same time? The Discogs discussion thread has several suggestions for other audio recorders.
