Motorpsycho – The Crucible. Newie from Norwegian space/psych/prog rock gods – didn’t immediately grab me as much as last one The Tower, but in the same ballpark sonically.

Pye Corner Audio – Hollow Earth. With Boards Of Canada in abeyance, PCA has pretty much cornered (ho ho) the hauntological dancehall market. Martin Jenkins might not have pushed the envelope as much as prime BoC, but he is damnably consistent. This is a little lusher and less minimal than previous album Stasis, but if you like the PCA/Ghost Box sound, you’re going to like this.

Duke 72 – The Mid Shires Herald. Title and cover screams sub-Tolkien whimsy, but this is actually a pretty smart homage to the Ladbroke Grove sound of, err, 1972 – think Man, Help Yourself, Edgar Broughton Band etc.

Scott Gilmore – Two Roomed Motel. Vocodered electro-jazz and early Warp referencing faux-techno from man who sounds like he gets most of his instruments from the Argos catalogue: https://scottgilmore.bandcamp.com/album/two-roomed-motel

VA – Kankyo Ongaku: Japanese Environmental, Ambient & New Age Music 1980-1990. What it says on the tin. Deep listening required, but there’s some interesting stuff here with great stories behind its creation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5F5v-yKaHM

VA – I’m A Freak 2 Baby (CD 1). Just getting into this, but it’s already corrected the error made on the last box by including a Budgie track this time round… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H6GSYOByZs

Fire! – The Hands

Meg Baird & Mary Lattimore – Ghost Forests

Tangerine Dream – Alpha Centauri

Man – ‘Spunk Rock’ (from Greasy Truckers Party)
