In response to all the grumblings from Facebook/Twitter, this was posted on the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival/Out to Lunch Facebook page:

"Crikey. Keen to draw a line under Copegate and focus on the 51 other great Out to Lunch shows. Just to clear up one possible misconception - the gig was selling very well - only 30 tickets left. Feeling some sympathy for the man for what appears to have been a massive misjudgement.
Be charitable folks and Happy Christmas."

They're a nice bunch. I still love Copey...everyone makes mistakes.
