They were a kind of melodic/pomp rock band that I think had been going for awhile and they also started getting a bit more press when the NWOBHM was in full swing sorta like Magnum did. I'm pretty sure I saw them as a support band a few times and kinda liked 'em but never got any albums. I was just googlin' them the other day. Now it seems their albums go for quite a lot. ps The 'Delete' game is still going. Oh yes. The Bassist Gordon Rowley was in the mighty Strife who really are worth checking out, especially the first album the unfortunately named Rush (unfortunate for an album released in 1975 when a certain bunch of Canadians were about to be quite popular - nice review here http://www.headheritage.co.uk/unsung/review/1460). Nightwing haven’t really stood the test of time. I loved Something In The Air and Black Summer. Diminishing returns thereafter. How about Saga? Canadian band. Silent Knight and Images At Twilight were well loved in these parts. Bet all these are mentioned earlier in this thread. Ooh - Shiva and Firedance, that was the one for me.

Ha! That's not bad, actually. I'm hearing a bit of Thin Lizzy, in there, personally.

Nightwing and Shiva in the same thread?? How you are spoiling us, sirs! Both bands are esential history for pompy/proggy metal fans... Blimey, I think my copy of Black Summer is even signed. Great title track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyYLgzQ48oU And that Shiva album has some very good songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm_9lnNnvfY
