IMO - the LP "Telemetric Melodies" is great and a good one to start with - sort of Stereolab's 'Seeperbold' by way of the Incredible String Band at times! Another good entry into the Pram canon is Dark Island.

Funny - I'd never heard of this band PRAM until earlier today when someone posted a comment on my blog which mentioned them more-or-less in passing now here y'all are talking about 'em! ...guess I'll dig the --space page...

It's not the first time Pram is mentioned here. I have put a couple of posts about these guys in the last 4 years or so. Dig them and tell us your op, Five. And can you put a link to your blog here?

I've been hearing tracks from the current Pram album 'Across The Meridian' on 6Music for the last few months now. Really good stuff! They're not a new name to me, though. They've been around for yonks. I'd just somehow never checked 'em out, for some reason. On reading up on them I see there's been a pretty significant line-up change in recent years. Hence this post. I fancy buying something, but where should I start, in your opinions?

I'd start with the new one tbh, As a long time follower for me I'd say it's their best/ most consistent album, errr, ever. Plus, if you're vinyl accented, it's a lovely shade of silver. They have a penchant for whimsy on some of their early to mid period releases which can get a bit tiresome, ditto the ladies ' twee' voice. Here's my top 3.... 1. Across the Meridian album - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHhXXMOSyw0&list=PL5eU8lcWlr95vKl5UE2PMVvqka2DKeyOj 2. Dark Island album - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH1MwrNG9jQ&list=PL9GCMzNVFRD0JUKcxequy-0EykSOsOQeR 3. Museum of Imaginary Animals.
