All well & good but: What about ripping off riffs and lyrics from Willie Dixon, et. al.? That was not too cool.

Because they didn't give credit or pay the originators . . . .

Exhibit F.1: The Sun Records-influenced slapback echo on the right channel guitar on "Ramble On" (and it's subsequent volume controlled-solo, right channel)

My vinyl copy of "Led Zeppelin" clearly states: "You Shook Me" (by Willie Dixon; Arc; BMI; Time 6:30) "I Can't Quit You Baby" (by Willie Dixon; Conrad, BMI. Time 4:42) Most of those original Delta bluesmen would pick up riffs and phrases from each other and incorporate them into their "own' songs...that's how they not only learnt 'em, but it also kept them alive

What about "Whole Lotta Love" (AKA "You Need Love" by Muddy Waters)? Seems to me they got sued for that one. Or "When The Levee Breaks" etc. Not denying their musicianship, just calling them to the carpet for perpetuating the robbery of Black artists.

My vinyl copy of 'Zep IV" states on the centre label: "When The Levee Breaks" (7:08) (Jimmy Page-Robert Plant-John Paul Jones-John Bonham-Memphis Minnie) Seems like credit to me; especially since Minnie's is half the length and a completely different arrangement

Exhibit H.1: Percy's watery, whisper vocals on "What Is And What Should Never Be", along with its unspoken reverie

Exhibit J.1: The expert time-keeping of John Henry Bonham, espeically on 'The Lemon Song" when he hits that teeny-tiny cymbal just ONCE, like the way his mate Bill Ward subseqnetly did on Sabbaf's "The Wizard"
