Has anyone heard the fantastic psych-pop masterpiece - The Real Thing by Russell Morris. It's on Rubble 18 if my memory serves me well.
Anyhow I thought I'd mention it cos it seems to be cropping up a bit these days in likely & unlikely situations. For a start Kylie's done a version of it - yeah, that's right. And secondly, I'm not alone in thinking that the Death In Vegas tune Scorpio Rising (easily the best thing Liam Gallagher has ever sang on - take note Noel) rips it off far more than Pictures of Matchstick Men.
Ah well!
Also, has anyone else noticed that Leather (the first tune on Scorpio Rising) is a total Neu steal and therefore sounds uncannily like The Subtle Energies Commision. No reviews seem to have noticed this - they all seem to have picked up on the albums indian influences totally missing its massive Germanic slant!
