Conspiracy Theory is such an ugly phrase...it pushes people away the minute they hear it...they close down. If you want people to out right dismiss something, just call it a conspiracy. Job done.

Science says ‘we’ve got it all worked out, there’s just a few details we need to iron out’
‘We’ve cracked everything’ Boring...

Others say ‘we’ve barely scratched the surface’

I know which world I’d rather live in.

Careful with that razor Eugene.

Cheers mate.

No, no, no. Science (proper scientists) are utterly humble, they know very little so far. The people who have alternative theories are arrogant beyond measure for they KNOW what others don't and don't need to test its validity.

I know which world I prefer. The one that cured smallpox and went to the moon. Not the one that says smallpox is a state of mind that their holy book will cure and no, we didn't go to the moon.

Did you know that for many years there was a giant face on Mars? People made fortunes saying so - until NASA went back and showed there wasn't. But by that time the money was made!

Check out ‘Smallpox the Leicester method’ or ‘The smallpox vaccine was no silver bullet’

We don’t hear about that do we?

I’ll know what you’ll say...(we could go on like this for years you and I!)

I’m not talking about you here Nigel, and if I am, I’m talking about me too, but there’s something operating here and it’s called ego or self image...this is the true curse of humanity.
Nobody wants to be wrong..feel a fool, or that they’ve had the wool pulled over their eyes.Self image has been rated higher than truth. (Money is in there too.obviously.) Really finding out something..TOGETHER! Not dogmatically sticking to one camp or another...which we’re doing..haha. This is why from being a child I’ve never understood political ‘parties’ Why don’t people just all work together? Divide and Rule.

If humanity can’t solve that issue, we are truly lost.

Point taken, perhaps I should have said ‘media science’. The same could be said of this..”arrogant beyond measure”

I’m ‘out to lunch’

Hehe...

Where are the Carl Sagan’s, Arthur C Clarke’s, the James Burke’s, the Heinz Woolf’s on tv these days?..no we get the same faces doing all the programmes all the time. Ever noticed how few presenters there are doing all these science programmes? In fact generally..the same old faces turning up time and time again. The ‘chosen ones’. Could’ve spent more time on that but you get my drift..At least these people had an imagination of their own and seemed more willing to explore crazy/alternative ideas in science etc. There’s none of that today on telly..it’s like there’s nothing left for ‘you’ to work out..we’ve done it all. I used to take some interest in Brian Cox documentaries, but other more exciting ideas got the better of me..stuff that really did make me ‘wonder’
I recall an episode of Star Gazing Live...someone texted in a question..’did we really go to the moon?’ his responsive (maybe quite rightly in your opinion?) was “turn over to itv now..we don’t want you!” Wouldn’t “yes” have sufficed? Not a very scientific answer Brian! Why was he so upset by this?
The look on Dara O’ Briens face was classic..even he was horrified. Dogma..wouldn’t even discuss.
I’ve said enough..I’m not giving you any more ammo! Haha!

Ps..we’re doing pretty well here mate, we’ve not reduced ourselves to name calling...maybe there’s hope...maybe there’s been a few near misses though!

"Not dogmatically sticking to one camp or another."

I don't think "crazy alternative theories" should be dignified by being called a camp. Darwin was broadly right, as bolstered by a million, million confirmatory observations. Intelligent design has been shown to be valid not a single time.

One camp, and one group of people who reject evidence as a basis for explaining the world. They're welcome to do so but not to slag off the whole idea of science. I used to live in Shrewsbury. There's a plaque in a church celebrating that young Darwin worshipped there. So a good, sensible modern congregation who accept science and don't pretend he is in conflict with their faith. So 150 years of understanding in Salop - why can't the fundamentalists and the science deniers in the States catch up?

I’m not sure if you were specifically referring to me or not there..”crazy alternative theories” no matter..
Free speech...common sense sorts the wheat from the chafe.

Anyway, we’re not taking about whether the world’s run by aliens or if the Royal family are reptiles and other such things pushed out by the likes of Alex Jones or David Icke. Most of my topics/replies are about science/technology, energy use and production and alternative means of propulsion.

The made man ‘law’ of thermodynamics says ‘you can NEVER get more energy out than you put in.’ Many in the scientific community now say it’s an old law that needs attention. If it’s been proven wrong through repeated experiments and still continues to be held as a ‘law’ then it is dogma. And clearly not beneficial anymore.

Many people throughout history that have proven this ‘law’ wrong...
People like Tesla who invented the AC system of power supply we all use. Tesla wanted to give the world ‘Free Energy’ but banking interests wouldn’t let him. Just a myth? Pons and Fleischman with their research into Cold Fusion in the 1980’s and endless others like Bruce de Palma, who came to a sticky end by all accounts. Pons and Fleischman went straight to world media with their discoveries knowing that elements within the ‘black or undisclosed technology’ science community, who already know this stuff and have for years, would try to suppress it one way or another.
It’s like one of those fairground machines where heads keep popping up and you have to hit them with a hammer! This tech keeps independently popping up and has to be ‘dealt with.’ A certain Steven E. Jones was instrumental in quashing Pons and Fleischman’s reseach. Guess what? That’s the very same Steve E. Jones that stears the so called ‘9/11 truth movement’ away from the Cold Fusion related undisclosed technology that (allegedly..I believe it..or rather it’s the best explanation to date) was used on the day! Coincidence or what!? That makes me suspicious. He prefers the ‘controlled demolition’ theory. Don’t try and tell me planes did it...not interested.
9/11 isn’t a subject that’s ‘old hat’ it’s central to many issues still.

Is it any wonder that these people are silenced..? Literally sometimes...Made out or be frauds and nutters not to be trusted? Political/economic interests maintaining the status quo. Science has indeed done many great things. I’m judging now on what mainstream science isn’t taking about. Science has its hands tied..no funding if you don’t tow the line. Furthermore you’ll be chased out. True, regulations need to be put in place to stop real fraudsters but..when evidence is presented and thrown out one must wonder what’s really going on.

If anyone has a real impartial interest, take some serious time to look into ‘Breakthrough Energy’ or ‘Free energy.’ Choose sources wisely..remember sites like ‘wiki’ are monitored and censored. Look at both sides. Make your own mind up. Are we the victims of an energy scam? And if we are let’s lay that template over other important issues and see what else we dig up. I’m no expert in anything, but I like to think I can sniff out a scam when I see one.
Energy companies (actually there are very few..never mind this ‘switch’ nonsense illusion of choice, it’s all the same people) wouldn’t be able to screw us out of thousands a year if anybody came up with a different solution. They just ain’t gonna let it happen, and will go to any lengths to suppress such Breakthrough Energy technology if they ain’t making a buck out of it. Simple as that. Stick to the old paradigm!

Not a personal attack..just the on mode of thinking employed.

The info I’ve put on this site (which is well worth a look in to for anyone open minded...my approach has been questionable at times, I’ll give ya’ that..live and learn eh) might just catch one or two people’s attention, for the right reasons. Job done.
Have your say mate, we’ll end it on reasonable terms. No point falling out with someone you’ve never met. We’ve got better things to do. Forums are great for sharing sources of info but when it comes to changing peoples minds it’s the opposite. Only they can do that.

Sincere best wishes.

Ps. I’m not religious. If you are..’may your god go with you’ as Dave Allen used to say. I don’t disagree with Darwin’s explanation of evolution either. His ideas have been taken though, and used for some ‘not so good ideas’ like eugenics..and still are.

“Infinite Energy, but not for the masses!” Is as a good a place to start as any..he does mention the ‘A’ word though..I keep an open mind on that.

“There are two opinions, either we are alone in the universe...or we are not. Both are absolutely mind blowing” Carl Sagan.

Cheers Chap!

No I wasn,t meaning you, it was you used the phrase crazy alternative theories and I quoted it as a shorthand.

‘Free Energy’ wasn't suppressed by banking interests and cold fusion had the fundamental defect that it didn't work. Just sayin'.

No I'm not religious but if I was I'd demand proof. ;)

On Free energy, J. P. Morgan is quoted as saying..” So Mr. Tesla, were do we put the meters”
Tesla: “Meters? What meters?” Exit financial backer J.P. Morgan.
I’ll shut the fuck up now!
