I only saw the piece on the website. As I said, the carving on the wall is 'supposed' to look like a man and a serpent but looking at the image on the webpage I'm not totally convinced .

I'm not sure about some of the content of the 'Caer' website at http://www.caer.co.uk/

Just a little too much 'airey fairyness'

Jo May was a former actor and is now a registered Psychotherapist.

Does this explain anything?

One book on Fogous that did impress me enough to buy was 'Mother and Sun (The Cornish Fogou)' by Ian McNeil Cooke which is more of a reference guide with a good dose of folklore.
