Thanks - I know the way, and I'm not doing too badly ...

The Holymire circle is probably within the top ten largest circle diameters known. It's one of those 'Cumbrian Great Circles' and seems to share features with other well known circles, such as Castle Rigg and Gamelands. So there's a lot of potential kibosh at stake. The Kirkhaugh gold ornament was excavated on the margin of this site. The county archaeologists didn't have much problem in recognising it as a circle (SMR = 'probably a circle'). The farmer/owner attacked it with a JCB when he found out it was listed.
