Queen Elizabeth Hall
Queen Elizabeth
2009, Head Heritage
In May 2000CE in London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cope delivered the sole Queen Elizabeth concert performance – armed only with three Thighpaulsandras and an array of electronic gadgetry. Presented here for the first time is “She Diana” – the near-hour-long homage to Lady Di that our Republican duo felt obligated to deliver after the public outpouring of grief. Like 1994’s Queen Elizabeth debut and 1997’s ELIZABETH VAGINA, this huge electro piece shimmers with static and soaring vocals, and concludes with a cranky Player Piano version of “One Day My Prince Will Come”. Aww.
