Looking for an instrumental piece...

I have a piece of music in my head and I don't know what it is called. I know there are ways of looking, such as https://www.musipedia.org/ but I thought I'd ask here before I go trawling through it. Despite it's best efforts, it's a bit unweildy.

So here's a description...

It's played on acoustic guitar.
It's pretty well known.
I think it was written in the late 60's or early 1970's.
I'm getting a mental association with Vietnam, so it might have formed the soundtrack to a war film of that time.
It's not Cavatina. It's not in any way mellow.
It's not just one acoustic guitar. There's other stuff. Another guitar possibly, and there's some percussion too. Tablas and what have you.

It's in 8:4 time I think. Each bar has rhythym of 12312312

The first bar is A minor (arpeggiated)
The note change between beats 1 and 2 is a hammer on from the open B to C

The second bar is in G. Also arpeggiated.
The action comes from a descending bassline Going from G to F# to E.

Bar 3 is also in G. but the bassnote stats at G.
A motif is played on the 4th and 5th strings

Bar 4 goes back to A minor but doesn't mirror the first bar.

It goes on from there, developing into using different inversions further up the fretboard.

Anyone dispel the shadows for me?

No it's not The Shadows either.
