Very sad. SF Sorrow is one of the greatest albums of all time, certainly in my top five. 'Defecting Grey' is one of the weirdest and most innovative singles ever released by a mainstream pop group (which they were at the time).

But apropos of your post, Keith, today I actually decided to listen to 'Savage Eye' instead and thought that - although not their best work - it's very underrated. A mix of Mott / Sweet / Cheap Trick style glam rock and CSN type ballads, uncharacteristic but very enjoyable.

I last saw the Pretties on their farewell tour a couple of years ago. They were such a great, important band. Amazing songs, from R&B to psych and beyond. I also admire their anarchic spirit. For different reasons I was always very drunk whenever I saw them live, and while I wish I could remember the gigs more clearly it seems appropriate that it should have been that way.
