Wax Machine – Earthsong Of Silence. Hippy rock from Brighton in 2020, who woulda thunk it? A little Gong-like twee in places, but there’s a mellow yet lithe vibe throughout, nice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bT8p0usbbA8 Revbjelde – Hooha Hubbub. Retro futurist hauntological types, somewhere near the top of the second division: https://buriedtreasure.bandcamp.com/album/hooha-hubbub Smoke Fairies – Darkness Brings The Wonders Home Slift – Ummon Time Is A Mountain – s/t Van Der Graaf Generator – The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other / H To He Who Am The Only One / Vital. Had a major VDGG blow-out this week, Vital in particular flippin’ rocks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4IVF-h10g0 Edgar Froese – Macula Transfer

Actually – Pet Shop Boys Introspective – Pet Shop Boys Behaviour – Pet Shop Boys Say It To Me 12” - Pet Shop Boys The PSB's haven't just made some great records. They have always taken care with the visual presentation, too. I've been reading (viewing?) the Catalogue book, a beautifully presented look at their back catalogue from the start to the early 2000's. All the covers (for the various formats) are there along with stills from their video's and live shows, together with interesting insights from collaborators and the duo themselves. There is also an entertaining and informative extended interview at the end which goes something like this. Long, detailed and well thought out reply from Neil Tennant followed by a witty one liner from Chris Lowe. He's very dry, isn't he! Anyway, it's encouraged me dig out some old PSB's albums – great stuff. And the more recent 12” is very good, too. Also... Strange Days – Natacha Atlas Ribbons - Bibio John Balance Enters Valhalla – Julian Cope Are You A Dreamer? - Death & Vanilla Return To The 37th Chamber – El Michels Affair Further – Richard Hawley Singularity – Jon Hopkins Jaime – Brittany Howard Somebody's Knocking – Mark Lanegan Band Rockers Meet King Tubby In A Firehouse – Augustus Pablo Stunning Luxury – Snapped Ankles Fab Four Suture – Stereolab Mantovani & Friends – V/A Red Barked Tree - Wire

Recently found the Introspective Christmas card I received in 1988 as a subscriber to the PSB's free information service. Seems to be quite a collector's item. Even the compiler of this web page doesn't seem to have one. http://www.geowayne.com/newDesign/extras/cards.htm
