Andrew Rawlinson : The Hit - Into the Rock 'n' Roll Universe and Beyond

Don't post here very often but thought that this publication might interest some of you, as the style of writing is a bit similar to Cope in shaman-author mode.

The whole book is available to read online here, though I have just ordered the hardback edition:

Rawlinson was one of my old university lecturers and quite a character.

Thought he'd gone into occultation two decades ago and was living quietly in retirement in France. But I was wrong.

I think the cover is crap but it's by Storm Thorgerson. Rawlinson and Roger Waters were at school together and remained friends, and he was mates with Syd Barrett too.

Using the 'Character' search engine on the right is a good way to browse the thing (Julian gets a mention!), and creates the impression that it might just be be one of the most off-the-wall music books ever published, even though there are quite a few of those around.
