Shamed to say I'd never heard cool in the pool while obviously being familiar with Can and Holger's On the way to the peak of normal. Gonna have to check out his debut album Movies now Funny that Lauren Laverne always thought Czukay was pronounced 'Suzuki'!

I don't remember hearing it pronounced and always thought 'ksookai' but have now seen people say it's 'shookai'. It's going to be Eastern European by way of German anyway. Not japanese. So would presumably follow pronunciation patterns from the area. Though not sure how long a name retains original pronunciation when generations live in a different region. I was just looking at Chris D's surname Desjardins and thinking I assume that's still got the French pronunciation, Americans haven't warped it have they?

A tribute concert with a formidable line-up in January in Cologne, in Jaki's name though this might change now. https://www.thewire.co.uk/events/jaki-liebezeit-tribute-2018
