First Record Of The Weekend 9.6.17

Daniel Avery - Drone Logic

This must be 4-5 years old now. He's playing tomorrow at Boston Manor, between Hanwell & Brentford. I've got a ticket, it's but a walk away but his & Andrew Weatherall's sets overlap for a substantial amount of time. Bummer, man.

Anyway. The album's classy ('These Nights Never End' is a stone groove, man ), he's a real talent & it's time for a new one.

Felt in need of something soothing, so first play of this weekend was Black Tempest - Enfolding Light.

Its 2:30 am..here in Florida....gigantic full moon tonite, and so as usual for me, real bad insomnia.
Off 2 the living room and am currently listening to{quietly!} Rudolf Serkin playing Beethoven's 'Moonlight' sonata.

Columbia records #MS 6481 in stereo {1963}

It was Hey Colossus - The Guillotine for me. And that was about it. V early night after late election one, and a midweek night out in central London with our student society. Too old...

Cobra Family Picnic - Magnetic Anomaly

Another ace release from Cardinal Fuzz (in cahoots with Sky Lantern Records). This is a wildly rocking psychedelic ride, and I can't stop listening to it. Hearing more in it with each listen, which is always a good sign. Really recommend it if you can still get a copy. If not I understand Sulatron are releasing it on CD at some point.

Got it on again now. Suits current mood, at least until Doctor Who is on anyway.
