The whirring noise from my Z620's HD. I was working on a new track and some things in Max for Live started behaving oddly, so I busted out Kaspersky to check and see if something had crept into the machine unnoticed. Hopefully nothing's gotten into this mo'fo...

World in Action theme tune. Taken from Matt Berry's 'TV Theme Tunes' collection on Acid Jazz which looks like it has too many obvious inclusions tbh.

But this is hauntingly fab.

OM, Gethsemane dubplate. First listens in progress now.

OM + Dub is a natural match made in heaven, what with the expansiveness of OM's sound and vibe, the Biblical allusions and declamatory prophetic chanting and spiritual yearnings, not to mention the fundamental deep bass and drum nucleus of the band. I'm loving this (and the Addis dubplate), 'cause I really want to: Cisneros' reverbed vocals go down good - very African Postman - but I can't help but wish they brought in a few real horn players, and the beat sounds a little too canned to my ears - not enough deep space and imagination percussion-wise.

I was listening to him being interviewed by Russell Brand yesterday from RB's Under the skin podcast. First time I'd heard of him and engaged with what he had to say.

*Edit* Russell can be a bit annoying and gobby, but he has some amazing, thought provoking guests on his podcast.
