"Everybody Down" by Kate Tempest. Has already provoked one comment from a somewhat indie-centric work colleague about why I'm listening to "that chavvy shit". First time I've heard this album - initial impressions are that it's not quite as fully realised as "Let them Eat Chaos" but a pretty engaging prequel nonetheless.

Just listened to that. Splendid! There's another version from 1973 by ... er... Bitch. It's not as good.

William Tyler - Modern Country.....Absoluuutely wunnerful to me synapsyearsythings. Mentioned one track, The Great Unwind, here already. Yewtub. Grin. Gone into town, had immensely productive meeting with archaeomegacheese: bought my reward. Have earnt thru illness and archaeothings so far this month £37-50p. Spent on music medicine £62. Ish. Not Drunken Songs. Eyeballed, fondled not brought: still dream of a Mancmerchstall. Rite place for that. Just the ticket needed. (£~). This will do for now. Floaty. Lovely. Truth. ( : ) )

It would appear that it is a track off Richie Hawtin's From my Mind to Yours entitled Gymnastiks

Luna - Chinatown. Forgot how much I dug Luna (and particularly Penthouse). I really like Wareham's work on Galaxie 500, but it's nice that he put together a band who embellished that sound a little, added a little dreamy, Velvetty guitar interplay to flesh 'em out. This song has the most hilariously bad rhyming couplet I've ever heard, though. "You're out all night Chasin' girlies You're late to work And you go home earlies" From the way he sings it, I've gotta think Wareham's quite aware of how endearingly naff that lyric is. :D
